Johnny Panessa was born in Mastic, on the east end of Long Island. Skateboarding brought him wandering into the urban centers of the East Coast where a strong bond grew with spaces and street life. At 18 he uprooted his suburban lifestyle and traded for urban living. He entered FIT with dreams of painting and fell into their Toy Design program. Professionally, he has designed for large and small toy companies and after a decade settled in as Director of Creative Services for The Betesh Group in NYC. But his career plays second fiddle to the camera which has acted as his true passion. He has documented travels to dozens of countries and keeps a day to day photography log as an outlet.
